The Land Rover Journey of Discovery Now Complete

Not so long ago, the Land Rover marquee embarked on the epic trans-continental roader trip that was sought to retrace the whole route taken by the similar expedition in late 1956 and at that time raised ?1m for the organization of Red Cross. After the 8,000 miles of travel through more than thirteen countries – that started in Birmigham, in England, and ended in Beijing, the Chinese site – we now can say that they have finally made it to the end.

The departure of the car was celebrated with the full production of the millionth Land Rover Discovery car, the arrival was timed to coincide with the great Beijing Motor Show. Along the whole way the rugged motorcade got through the Switzerland for the popular Geneva Motor Show, at that time hit some of the Europe’s oldest cities, and traversed a variety of the terrains and the climates, at the same time rolled through the Chernobyl as one of the first private vehicles that were able to tour the disaster location since the actual nuclear meltdown that happened there 26 years ago, and visited an array of the great number of museums and also toured through the former Soviet submarine base.
