The Land Rover brand will manufacture all-terrain electric car

Land Rover intends to launch a new line of models, which will be called Road Rover. Taking from brand’s history, this name was used for experimental cars, whose serial versions were supposed to be an intermediate link between all-terrain Land Rover and Rover road models. The first car representatives of the family will become all-terrain electric vehicles that according to carmakers will compete with Mercedes S-class, and Porsche and Audi future EV.

The novelty will be based on the aluminum platform that is the same for the new generation XJ sedan in electric version. Road Rover will get a suspension and an increased clearance that allow improving the car’s performance. New models will be equipped by two electric engines, providing the operation of the four-drive system. The power distance will make about 480 km, and acceleration to 100 km / h is available in 5 seconds.
